What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is a term that refers to the formation of lumps and dimples in the skin. The exact cause of cellulite is now known. It appears to result from an interaction between the connective tissue in the dermatological layer that lies below the surface of the skin and the fibrous of fat that surrounds it.

What is QWO?

QWO (collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes) is the first and only FDA-approved treatment for cellulite. It is typically offered to older women and is administered in the buttocks and thighs via injection. It is a non-surgical procedure that consists of three rounds of shots over the course of 21 days.

How QWO Works

The syringe contains enzymes that eat away at the collagen and fiber that connect the skin and muscle, creating a smoother look and feel.

Injections take as little as 10 minutes with little to no downtime afterward. Bruising is a common side effect in the treated area and typically goes away after a few days. Visible results may be achieved in a matter of weeks, though results may vary per individual.

Note that this procedure does not target sagging skin or laxity but strictly cellulite. You should not receive QWO if you are allergic to any collagenase or the ingredients in QWO or have an active infection in the treatment area.
